All The Damage I Wish To Do Today

By gartenfische | July 5, 2007

One night recently, my daughter and I were at the park playing frisbee (the frisbee has a light in it). We stopped after a bit and were standing around when she turned on the light and stuck the frisbee under her chin, grimacing, like people do with flashlights to look scary. It reminded me of a couple of years ago when my husband had an allergic reaction at night and was freaked out because his lips had swelled to about triple the size. He was so shocked at what he saw in the bathroom mirror that he rushed back to the bed with a flashlight and, jostling me awake, urgently exclaimed, LOOK!,” while shining the light upward toward his face. Oh my God, it was an awful sight. Imagine a very, very freaky cartoon character with gigantic balloon lips–lips that you would never see on a human being–lips like bratwurst. Like bratwurst injected with collagen. A very scary monster cartoon character. Imagine waking up to that. It definitely was not funny, but I wish I had a picture of it now.

And that reminds me of how, after I got my iMac, we spent hours taking goofy pictures of ourselves in Photo Booth.

Below is a photo of my daughter (really, she is a very good looking young woman). You can see the family resemblance if you study the photo of me to the left (our ears are a bit different, though). And this is all the damage I wish to do today.
