It may be when we no longer know what to do,
we have come to our real work,
and that when we no longer know which way to go,
we have begun our real journey.

agree… but it’s not a matter of standing still & waiting either… suspect it’s coming to a place where we have done all we can humanly do–or where we realise that all we can do with all our will & effort is not enough… that we finally lean on grace & do what we were created for.
agree too that you have a beautiful beautiful blog!

Oh, wow, yes! Romans 8.26, too!
Thank you, Gartenfische, for these good things you find for us…

Armani, Thank you very much, and welcome! I am glad you stopped by.
Ovidia, Yes, there is always a balance, isn’t there? For me, I am presently pulled to let go and not do so much as I might have previously, but open, open, open. Surrender and trust God. I think I did come to a place where I realized all my efforts were not working.
The more I spend time in silence, the more I feel I am following God’s proddings. Of course, I am not talking about a spineless apathy, either! And all of this could change for me tomorrow, that’s the thing about following God’s will and not mine—I have to be willing to change, to start in another direction.
Thanks for the compliment, my friend!
Mike, Ah, yes!
Thank you!

Wendell Berry. What more can I say? The only thing I’ll add, from my own experience, is the when I got to a point where I didn’t know what to do or which way to go, I got caught up in addictions. God was not in my life. Or so I thought. I hadn’t that connection. Now I feel there is a guide and the poem doesn’t scare me like it would have say….30 years ago. Thanks.
